In the 18th century it was one of the most prestigious buildings in Villa Borghese, noted as the house of water plays, a theater for parties and a mundane meeting place. The building now hosts the collection of Italo-American artist Carlo Bilotti, works of art by De Chirico, Andy Warhol, Giacomo Manzù and Larry Rivers.

The largest number of evidence ever granted to an exhibition in the West by the Chinese authorities: over 300 pieces narrating over a millennium of Chinese history and art, from the Zhou dynasty (1045-221 arc.) to the first Empire (221 b.C.-23 a.C), during which the empire was molded and consolidated and continued with its refined culture and widespread administrative structure for over 21 centuries.

A grand exhibition as homage to J. H. W. Tischbein, the friend who hosted J. W. Goethe in Rome. His contemporaries nicknamed him the “painter with the palette” or the “poet painter”. In fact many of his works of art was conceived as real pendants of literary texts.

The exhibition holds approximately 80 works of art on canvas, photographs, and videos from the Warhol Museum archives, deepening a less known aspect of Warhol’s art: his connection to spirituality and religion. Paul Klee started painting after a trip to Tunisia, and found his very original abstract and symbolic style. He later specialized his art in the realization of small drawings and watercolors, until arriving at the last period of his life – a period marked by his illness and fragility – dreamlike and imaginary representations. The exhibition reunites works of art from the museums: Centre George Pompidou, Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York and the Berggruen Museum of Berlin, together with the private collection of Heinz Berggruen.
